Consumer Reports has issued its annual roundup of its ten "Top Picks" as the best new vehicles to purchase in 2023.
While automotive enthusiast publications will typically choose cars that they enjoy driving (logically), vehicles on CR's list must be affordable and deliver the latest safety features such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. These cars must have the right combination of road-test performance, predicted reliability, owner satisfaction, and safety.
“Car buyers face so many choices, not just about make and model, but also an ever-growing amount of new features – some that greatly benefit safety and efficiency,” said Jake Fisher, senior director of automotive testing at Consumer Reports. “Drivers can use our Top Picks list to quickly find vehicles that stand out from the pack and will meet their needs.”
