How will how 3D printing, digital technologies, and other disruptions transform both automotive manufacturing and healthcare?

Two keynote speakers at the upcoming Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis show will share their perspectives on the future of automotive manufacturing and of healthcare. John Ellis, futurist and former global technologist with Ford Motor Co., and Mark Wehde, chair of the Mayo Clinic Division of Engineering, will explore how 3D printing, digital technologies, and other advances are transforming their respective sectors.

Held November 2-3 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis will bring together Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M), Automation Technology Expo (ATX), Design & Manufacturing (D&M), MinnPack, and Plastec in one show.

“As we aim to continuously provide the best expertise and industry insight in manufacturing innovation, featuring content from renowned global thought leaders such as Wehde and Ellis will provide perspective to the future of possibilities across various markets,” shared Suzanne Deffree, group event director, in a statement. “With the intense disruptions and changes that the manufacturing markets are facing, it’s pertinent to explore how different businesses are tapping into the latest technologies surrounding artificial intelligence, sensing, cardiovascular, robotics, 3D printing, and more.”

Wehde’s presentation, "The Future of Healthcare is Happening Now," will take place Nov. 2 at 12:30 p.m. at the Engineering Theater. Wehde frequently has his eyes on what's next, as one of his previous keynotes, “Mayo Clinic 2030: Hospital of the Future," explored the increasing digitalization of healthcare and how it could lead to more patient-centric care. In his upcoming keynote, Wehde will review current reactive disruptive medical environments while focusing on proactive product discovery and solutions that can aid healthcare providers and customers.

In "Driving the Next Phase in Automotive Manufacturing" on Nov. 3 at 12:30 p.m. in the Engineering Theater, Ellis will explore how engineers use manufacturing technologies to advance sustainability and connectivity in the automotive world. He will review tools such as additive manufacturing, 3D printing, sensors, and IoT.

Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis will also host multiple global engineering and manufacturing organizations to offer attendees with a comprehensive view of the product lifecycle, from prototype to production. Full keynote information can be found here. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit the expo hall with more than 515 exhibitors. Register here to attend Advance Manufacturing Minneapolis and all five keynote presentations as well as other conference sessions.

Advanced Manufacturing Minneapolis is organized by Informa Markets – Engineering, which also publishes Design News.
