Additive Flow aims to optimize build parameters within approved CAD geometries to reduce cost, while improving productivity, reliability, and repeatability.

A new additive manufacturing production engineering software platform aims to provide more than just design optimization and workflow support. Additive Flow seeks to adress the data challenges many additive manufacturing (AM) teams face during decision making. Additive Flow’s software also aims to accelerate the workflow and improve production outcomes, the company shared in a news release.

“Additive Flow exists to address common, unresolved challenges experienced across the production workflow for AM applications. Our software operates after the CAD stage and hands over to CAM, handling siloed data to integrate and improve production processes for AM in record times with validated outcomes,” explained Alexander Pluke, CEO, Additive Flow, in the statement.

Encompassing material, manufacturing, and quality issues, the platform allocates the optimum build parameters at every location within the final model to achieve the desired objectives of each particular case, the company explained. Recent projects at the National Physics Laboratory and with companies such as EOS, Autodesk, and Airbus have demonstrated increased production speeds of up to 200%, a 41.3% reduction in porosity, an up to 35.75% reduction in cost per part, a reduction of workflow development time from 80 hours down to 10 minutes, 2000 times greater computing speeds, thermal compliance, and zero noncomformance from 44% noncomformance, according to Additive Flow.

The new platform will be exhibited at Formnext Stand D58 in Hall 11.0 this month, where Additive Flow plans to demonstrate how it can deliver cost, time, and quality efficiencies for metal AM applications. “We really can’t wait to welcome people on to our stand at Formnext this year," Pluke said. "Our headline metrics are impressive, and we can show anyone that visits our stand how they were achieved or independently validated. Parts and comprehensive case studies will be available to view to enable them to understand the power of our production engineering approach, which is available as software or services.”

Additive Flow will also host open access seminar sessions at Formnext during which guest speakers from Autodesk, ZEISS, Airbus, and more.
